I know its about time! I apologize that I haven't checked in sooner but with the holidays and an illness, I've just started to feel like doing something worthwhile! I spent a lot of time looking at these walls--probably too much time! I got to take a good look around this house and make some decisions as to just how to get it decorated the way I like. First Santa of the Year

This is my first Santa of the year that will go on the Pfatt Marketplace on the 10th around 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Hopefully there will be more Santa's soon. I have several started and in different stages of completion. The weeks have been somewhat of a blur since losing our little doggie. I guess this is the month for missing loved ones. When I typed in "the 10th" it made me think of my dear Dad. Monday would have been his birthday. Hard to believe it will be 8 years this December. It seems like only yesterday I gave him a kiss and held his hand. Anyway--enjoy the beautiful weather that October brings. My hubby and I are headed south in the morning for a day of terrific antiques and sight-seeing. I think it shall be gooood medicine. :) ~Debbie

Saying GoodBye is Never Easy

Our hearts our heavy at my house. We had to say Good Bye to our Sweet Gonchar yesterday. We rescued him over 10 years ago. He brought us so much love and joy and we are thankful we had him in our life. He endured a lot in the past couple of years and he was quite the little fighter. I know that all of you who have suffered the same kind of loss know how we're feeling. Rest in Peace Sweet Baby. We miss you. ~ Debbie

SHE SURVIVED THE EARTHQUAKE!

This little cutie and her cat were minding their own business yesterday when we were hit by a surprise earthquake. We've never had the experience before and hope to never have it again. Samantha was sitting on top of Spookers before the quake, but was sitting next to him afterwards. They are fine and listed on Ebay last night. That was a really scary experience for all of us. We thought our house was collapsing. ~Debbie

I just want to share some March Madness! I'm so excited about my new offerings for the pfattmarketplace.com this month. I have two special sets of bunnies all dressed up in their red, white and blues! IMPORTANT STUFF HAPPENING THERE-- the site will no longer be updated in the late hours the night before, but will be updating at 10:00 on the 10th! Now everybody gets to sleep in without missing anything!

OK now for more news!!! I'm excited to announce two new sites that I will be selling my goodies on. Starting next week around the 14th or 15th, I'll be adding goodies on the Prim Nest. This is a brand new website and I'm going to be joining some very talented artists. This site is a little different than some of the others. I will be able to list items throughout the month.

The other site I will be adding one of a kind special dolls for sale is another new site-- DollTown!! Wow! This site is for One-of-a-Kind dolls and I feel so humbled to join with the artists on this site. This is where I hope to be making some very special dolls. This is a site that I can list my dolls at any time, too.

This will be my last Santa for sale this year. I can't believe I'm saying that because the season for making these jolly ole souls has been too short. Next year, I'm going to start Santa's earlier! I'm so excited to be making Santa's again! I'm having so much fun (even though they are a lot of work) making these guys! If you could see my house! It looks like Christmas in certain parts with Santa's goodies and a few little decorations. My main area of the house has a few Halloween Decorations and not that many as we had started painting. But the upstairs/great room/studio is totally finished and I've actually started decorating for Christmas as I unpack more boxes. Somedays it feels like Christmas when I find a treasure that I had packed away. It's usually a little something sentimental but each one makes this "new to us" house feel more like home. Enjoying the View

I'm having trouble these days staying inside and staying on task! The weather has been beautiful. The leaves are falling almost as soon as they're changing colors. This is the first Fall that we're enjoying in our new surroundings so I thought I better snap some pics before the leaves are all gone. The view is changing so quickly that I need to keep the camera handy. The hubby and I have been fighting colds this week, but the only thing its kept us from doing is painting the inside of the house! How can we make ourselves stay inside and miss out on the beautiful weather? This week, I've thought of my Dad very often. He would have been 80 on the tenth. We would have been having one of our big 'ole family parties. Oh how I miss that Man! I have been working on some Santa's, but today, I just haven't been able to work because of nature's beautiful distraction. Enough said, one more walk in the trails and I'll get back to work. ~ Debbie

Labor Day has passed. The kids are back to school. The traffic is bad again, but the weather is looking great! We don't have any 90 degree weather in our forecast! I've even some leaves falling! Halloween is just around the corner and we have all of the beautiful colors of fall to look forward to seeing. If my house wasn't going through some major renovating, I would pull out my Halloween Decorations and amazingly I even know where they are. I made sure of that when the moving van was being unloaded! Oh Deer!

This morning I was excited when I looked out my window and saw the sweetest baby deer. It walked around the side of my house and I took some pictures. They're not the best pictures, because of the screens in the kitchen windows. I was afraid I would scare them away if I opened a door. Its sibling was over the fence. Then another deer came over the fence and into the trails. This one I am assuming was Mama. She snorted and they jumped the fence together. They were a sight to behold.

Spooky Halloween Vulture

I've been complaining too much about the heat and humidity this summer. Those triple digits just made me feel like a big ole sack of potatoes--blah! When I received these pictures from my daughter-in-law, I realized that summer does have its advantages like watermellon and Vacation Bible School. My grandsons are growing so fast and to see Elliot (almost 1 year old) eating watermellon, and Jackson (3 years old) at Vacation Bible School puts everything else in perspective.

I'm back to creating my dolls!!???? It felt so good to actually create a doll after so much time off. We're getting settled into our new surroundings and enjoying a different lifestyle. Last weekend I set up my temporary studio. It sure felt good to have my fingers back in touch with the sewing machine, paints, fabrics and needles. Hope all of you had a wonderful Memorial Day! I just got the news that my favorite soldier is going to be in town in a couple of days. He is stationed in California. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I haven't seen him since he got home from his last tour. His Aunt Debbie is so proud of him and can't wait to give him a big ole hug.

One Step Closer

We've put a contract on this house out in the country. It has 5 acres and my guys are really excited. Lord willing, we'll be moving in the end of June! I'll have to change internet services so I'm loading up on printer ink (unless I can use a cd) so that I can save all of my important emails and contact lists. Since this house is no longer on the market and I don't have to take the dogs with me everywhere I go, I'm having lunch with a friend. Have a great day- Deb

I can't believe that it's almost the middle of MAY!! I thought I would give you a little update on the house situation. We have a contract on our house and we have to scramble now to find another home. Of course nothing is certain in real estate until after the settlements, but you must trust that all will go well. As people have come to look at our house, I've been spending lots of time in my car with the dogs. They are loving it. When my cell phone rings, they think its time to go. It doesn't matter when it rings, or maybe I'm just turning it on--they are ready. They follow me through every room of the house as I'm cleaning--every single day that it was on the market. This has been an exhausting experience, and it isn't over. I can't wait to get my hands back into creating full time again. I was able to update my PfattMarketplace.com page this month with a Patriotic Uncle Sam, thanks to the help of Sweet Sandy! Wishing all of you a blessed May-

Sad to Say--My Last Listing For Awhile

This is my White Rabbit that will start on EBay tonight and end this Sunday Night. He's my little part of the Alice in Pfattland challenge.

It's with mixed emotions that this will be my last creation for awhile. We've decided that it is time to make a move. We've lived in this home for 14 years and we need to move on. I have tons to do in the process and guess I'll be sorting out my feelings during the process. I know God has a plan and we pray that we will have His protection throughout this ordeal and put us in the house that He wants us to call home.

Maybe You Have to Be Young to Appreciate It!

Maybe you have to be young to appreciate the snow. That doesn't mean we aren't thankful to God for watching over us and protecting us through this winter storm. We have some storm damage, but things could be much worse. My grandson was excited about all of the snow! We got 32" here. The digging out will take awhile and I'll bet we're going to see the remnants of this storm for quite a while.

Enough is Enough!

We are getting hammered by a snowstorm here in the No.Va/DC area. It may look pretty but enough is enough! We woke up to no power this morning and it was getting pretty cold in here. While the power is back on, I thought I'd post some pictures of this snowstorm we're in. I took these a couple of hours ago and we've had more inches accumulate since then. Its only a little after 1 on Saturday and its not supposed to stop until tonight. Its a scary situation. We've got huge cedar trees breaking right next to our house. Its a frightening situation.

Happy Groundhog's Day

I just love Groundhog's Day! It sounds like we're going to have another 6 weeks of winter and to celebrate, its going to snow here today. Me and Phil go back quite a few years. I have so many fond and fun memories of Groundhog's Day.

In my youngest years, I can remember the fantastic birthday parties together with my brother, 2 years older and his birthday is 5 days later than mine. In the photo above, I'm the one standing up.

I'll never forget how my elderly Grandaddy would call me up and ask me if I saw my shadow! The funny thing was, I was the only grandchild he would call on their birthday. I didn't know that for many years.

I remember when I was about 12 years old, my aunt took me on a bus ride to Clarendon. I thought we were going shopping and she thought she was going to surprise me and take me to get a permanent. She had waited until we got on the bus to tell me. Well, we ended up shopping because there was no way I was getting a permanent. She was special Aunt.

One of my most precious memories is of my Dad bringing me 40 long stemmed red roses when I turned 40. Boy do I miss Mom & Dad!

There was the first time in about 20 years that my husband and I took off, without kids for a weekend trip to celebrate our birthdays. His birthday was just 10 days ago. Since then we've tried to keep up the tradition.

There's so many more birthday celebrations to remember like lunches with friends and sweet phone calls from family and friends and who can forget the excitement on the face of your little ones when they hand you your birthday card.

Looking back at all of my fond memories of Groundhog's Day, I've realized the birthday memories were never about the gifts I received (although they were all nice and I wish I could remember all of them), but the memories are all about the moments and people I hold dear. :)

Just had to make a George Washington

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............it has been so cold here in No. VA! We are pulling out sweaters and sweatshirts that we haven't worn for years. We got a couple more inches of snow this morning. It was a great week to stay in, clean, drink coffee and work on a Rabbit.

I've had a lot of fun creating Rabbit E. Lee! He was a suggestion from a dear customer. He's headed for the pfattmarketplace.com to make an appearance early early Sunday Morning.

Gonchar's Doing Better!

He's amazed the vets and I'm so grateful to God and all of you who prayed for him. Gonchar's levels are now adequate. He'll still be on meds for some time, but we couldn't ask for better news. Thank you to all who have prayed and emailed such sweet notes. ~ Debbie

Sometimes it's just theraputic to put myself into my art. This is how my Angel of Peace came to be. My nephew and my youngest son's best friend are both serving in dangerous places abroad. I had the pleasure of having lunch with my nephew's wife and his two beautiful daughters today. He has been on my mind constantly since his deployment a little over a month ago. This is his second time serving in a war zone. My son's best friend is also in a dangerous area. His mother gave me a bracelet to wear every day to think about him. Boy does it ever serve as a reminder to pray for both of them daily! An Angel of Peace is being offered on Ebay starting tonight and ending Sunday evening. STAY SAFE GUYS!

What a week! It started with a sister-in-law having a heart attack Tuesday but thank God she is doing great! My sister came over Thursday and we spent a day going through old family pictures and sorted them out for our siblings. We always have a great time together. I've been cleaning like a mad woman, too! I always do that before changing decorations, so I have officially started decorating for Halloween, but I'm not finished. I haven't even started on the outside. I finished up this Little Pumpkin Girl and tried to get her listed before my other auction ended, but I had to stop in the middle of uploading pictures and recharge my battery in my camera. I think it may be time for a new battery. She finally got listed though. Today, we left early and spent the day with our grandsons. What a great way to end an especially busy week!

OH MY! It really has been a while since I listed on EBay! I was pleasantly surprised today when I scheduled my listing. I was frankly dreading the changes that could have been put into the process. He's Beautiful!

Isn't he! Although he was scheduled to make his grand appearence on the 21st, our 2nd Grandson was born Friday night, the 14th! He is just beautiful from his 10 little bitty toes to his beautiful sticky-up brown hair! Our hearts are swelled with joy. Elliot Michael weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and measured 21 1/4" long. Mom and baby are doing great!

This is our oldest son and his son. This picture brings back memories of when we used to take the boys fishing. On any given night, we would just throw a few fishing rods in the car and fish at one of the local ponds. I enjoy seeing our Son carry on the tradition with his son.
